For Bella Swan, there is one thing more important than life itself: Edward Cullen. But being in love with a vampire is even more dangerous than Bella could ever have imagined. Edward has already rescued Bella from the clutches of one evil vampire, but now, as their daring relationship threatens all that is near and dear to them, they realize their troubles may be just beginning...

(Re-reviewed on the 30 August 2016. Read for the first time in April 2016).

Preferred the first book a lot more, mainly coz Jacob wasn't in it much. I really don't like his character (and my dislike might - definitely does - have something to do with the fact that he's played by Taylor Lautner in the movies and I can't get him out of my head whenever I'm reading about Jacob. It's really annoying. I am NOT a Lautner fan).

I still liked Bella a lot, although there were moments while reading when I just wanted to hit her on head to hopefully make her use it. Seriously, that girl makes a lot of bad decisions.
And come on, Stephenie Meyer, couldn't you at least given Bella a skill? Let her be good at something, for goodness sake, and she might be able to look after herself and actually be useful.

One of the few strong things Meyer has going for her are her secondary characters. Alice, Jasper, Rosalie, you name them, they're much more interesting than Bella and Edward. Personally, I quite like the idea of a Jasper & Alice novel. Alice is certainly a better role model than Bella; excluding the fact that she's, uh yeah, a vampire.

I give it: 3 flowers!
