Waiting on Wednesday #18: TULIP FEVER (film)

Waiting on Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Breaking the Spine that highlights upcoming book releases we're excited to read. On my blog, I include movies as well.

Release Date: 24 February 2017.

Cast: Alicia Vikander / Cara Delevinge / Christoph Waltz / Judi Dench / Tom Hollander / Holliday Grainger.

An artist falls for a young married woman while he's commissioned to paint her portrait during the Tulip mania of 17th century Amsterdam.

I adore Alicia Vikander as an actress; she's brilliant. Not to mention the rest of this movie's cast is excellent too :)
I can't wait to watch this! It looks like a tragic, atmospheric historical romance that's clearly glittering with star power, and yes, it will probably break my heart, but I need it anyway :)

Anyone else excited for Tulip Fever?

  7. This looks phenomenal. I'm interested to see what Cara Delevinge will bring. She didn't impress me in Paper Towns or Suicide Squad, but I she does seem to have a lot of potential! I haven't actually seen Alicia Vikander in anything yet, but I already absolutely love her. I really appreciated how she went and personally hugged every sexual assault victim at last year's Grammy's after Lady Gaga's performance. She seems like such a good person, you know? Great pick this week!

  14. I haven't heard of this movie, but it sure does sound GREAT!! You know, it reminds me of the book "Girl with a Pearl Earring", by Tracy Chevalier. This novel is about the great Dutch painter, Vermeer. I LOVE his art!! Anyway, the book was made into a movie, which was released in 2003. This movie stars Scarlett Johansson and Colin Firth. I haven't read the book, nor have I seen the movie....:( They've both been in the back of my mind for some time now. I NEED to get to them both!!

Anyway, to continue! There's no equivalent to Goodreads for movies, but I'm going to start a list (on my PC) of movies to watch. "Tulip Fever" will be at the top of the list! Thanks for putting it on my radar!!

Thanks as well for visiting and commenting on my "Can't Wait Wednesday" post!! <3 <3 :) :)
